The California Ebike Incentive Project provides up to $2,000 of point-of-sale incentives to support the purchase of a new electric bicycle (ebike). California Ebike Incentive Project is funded by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CARB’s mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy.
Who is eligible for an incentive?
Ebike Incentive vouchers will be granted to California residents who are 18 years or older that meet the defined income requirements.
A portion of the incentives are set aside for priority applicants of a defined income range or that reside in a low-income/disadvantaged community.
One incentive is available per individual.

How Do I Claim My Incentive?
Prospective participants must complete an online application. Applicants will be required to provide residency and income verification documents.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Applicants must receive approval prior to purchasing an ebike to receive an incentive.

Which ebikes are eligable?
New Class 1, 2 and 3 electric bikes with an electric motor of less than or equal to 750 watts, operable pedals and integrated front and rear lights.
Eligible ebikes must have a minimum one-year manufacturer warranty and be fully assembled.
Ebikes may only be purchased at approved brick and mortar stores and online retailers.

Alameda residents community-owned electric utility offers a wide variety of rebates and incentives to help you make green choices. When you purchase a new electric bicycle from us, you may be eligible for a cash rebate of up to $600.
Or are you the type of person who would rather buy one thing that lasts forever? With bicycles, money spent up front on a complete bike with nicer parts will always cost less than an upgrade later. Bicycle companies have a lot more spending power than any of us do, and they get their parts at a better deal we can offer you on an upgrade later.
NOW TEST RIDE THE BIKE(S)
There is no substitute for getting on a bike. Don’t buy a bike without riding it first, and trust what you feel on a test ride. Few of us are “car experts,” but we all honor what we feel when taking a car out for a test drive - the same goes for a bike. We can only tell you so much - you do have to go out and spin the cranks.
